safari on windows bugs!
I was so looking forward to try the Safari beta on Windows when Safari beta was released. The experience from the browser after some first views was not good, at all. I didn't have the same problems as Roger Johansson 
had, my Safari beta won't show me any h1 or span tags! It bugs. Badly.
Does anyone have the same experience? Noone? I guess someone out there has problems at least! David Maynor, a contributor to the Errata Security blog is continuously updating his post with new bugs in Safari.
"The world best browser" indeed.. I did not test the other features, 'cause I was so hung up on the fact that it could not display tags correctly. At first glance, I thought that it was my fault with some really bad CSS, but no, I found the same bug on external sites as well, like: vg.no 
, the most used news site in Norway.
I took notice that several bloggers that I'm reading did mention some problems with the browser crashing, I have not experienced that yet with Safari beta. Let us hope that the RC is better than the beta.

The list of bugs seem to grow every second. I really hope that the next beta ( I doubt that they will make a release candidate after this mess) will be more stabile so that we can really test it;)

My Safari installation does not show tags correctly either. Engadget, Gizmodo, VG, Dagbladet, New York Times (one of SJ's demo sites during the keynote) and many many others. Too bad actually. Having the possibility to test web page development on Safari as well as Opera, IE and Firefox would have been excellent. Guess we'll have to wait until the final version hits the tubes.

When I tried Safari for Windows for the first time -- WHAT? I cannot see texts -- most of them -- the text in the title bar, menu bar, virtually everything -- is gone! I think they must look out for this: do Windows Safari also use Mac-specific fonts? Let's try the final version... I'm waiting for it. For the meantime, I will stick to Firefox -- and I am most unlikely go away with it.

Bugs, in a beta release, shock horror! Well, I realise there are a rather large number of bugs in the Safari beta, but it's actually a good move from Apple: Save testing and get the users to do it for you. On the other hand, many of those eager to try out Safari, like you, will end up disappointed, and may even get put off by it. I'm happy to use, test, and report the bugs I find in the hope that we'll get decent browser out of it, just as I do with Firefox.

My article may have been angled a bit wrong, what I was trying to say that the beta was pretty fubar. Userfriendly.org had a way of saying it: "The RC is the beta, the beta is the alpha and the alpa is a sketch on a napkin, soon the RC will be the napkin.."

another bug i've noticed is that if i have safari minimized, then go to maximize it back up, it will max, then instantly resize itself to half it's size. . .

Safari gives this error when i try to open any website even google can’t open the page “http://www.apple.com/”. The error was: “unknown error” ((null):10061

i'm guessing that the minimizing / restoring functions using the taskbar are of importance to most power users who don't want to bother with the respective buttons on the application window. it does get pretty frustrating.

the most annoying problem is minimize/maximize problem....and I can not minimize safari by clicking on taskbar.

I'm using Safari at the moment, Yes there are a lot of bugs... But it's a beta. Personally, it's much neater and easier to use than FireFox... But the one thing I'm most annoyed about is text in the tabs, it goes right to the end of it instead of front if there are too many tabs which means I forget which page each one is. I hope Apple soon release a BETA2 or something to fix up most of these bugs. Nicko
